Fire in Upland
In February of 2016 SERVPRO of Glendora/San Dimas was call to respond to a Commercial Fire Loss in Upland. The business is a metal fabrication and finishing facility, specializing in small appliances. Part of the processing area includes a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) laser metal cutting center. The equipment has a vacuum system that keeps the metal debris and gases from the cutting operation from getting into the factory air, possibly creating a health concern. The vacuum system overheated and caught fire, contaminating the entire 50,000 Square foot facility with smoke. Pre-cleaning testing was performed to help identify the needed remediation approach. Cleaning operations included wiping down and/or sealing all ceilings, equipment, supply racks, and walls. Cleaning operations were performed on a 24/7 schedule coordinating closely with the company to allow them to stay in business during the restoration.
